HYDRO FEVER - MAY 23rd
Hydroplane Museum Sets Milestone Event

The Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum celebrated it’s sixth anniversary in their Kent facility with a special event.

“Hydro Fever”, an annual event, was held at the Museum from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, May 23rd. Collectors and fans were able to tour the Museum’s Great Gallery, featuring such famous vintage Unlimited hydroplanes as Slo-Mo-Shun V, Miss Bardahl, Miss Burien, Atlas Van Lines, Oh Boy! Oberto, Hurricane IV and Miss Budweiser and Century21 (3rd Miss Thriftway).

H.A.R.M. executive director David Williams said, “When you consider that a museum like this, celebrating the sport that so many of us have loved for so long, was just a dream a decade ago, it is very exciting to celebrate six years in this wonderful facility.”

“The fans who joined us for Hydro Fever saw the results of literally thousands of hours of volunteer labor by a great group of talented volunteers who have made all this possible,” continued Williams. “I think hydro fans who haven’t seen the Museum will be thrilled to see the way the history of the sport has been preserved.”

Hydro Fever included a live auction of hydroplane memorabilia at 12 noon, and Casper model hydro races for the kids.

Hydroplane memorabilia collectors had tables set up where fans could browse through over 50 years of hydro memories, AND were able to purchase those memories should they wish to do so!
