HydroMod 2009 Celebrity Pro-Am

Saturday May 9, 2009 the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum hosted the First Hydromod Celebrity Pro-Am race, featuring the top drivers in the popular internet hydroplane racing series, and celebrity drivers from the ABRA and ULHRA. Spectators were be able to see the incredibly realistic on-line racing format in action, and had the opportunity to compete with pros (current on-line participants) and the celebrity drivers.

San Diego engineering student Scott Przybylski, developer of the program that has competitors from the USA, Canada, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and other points around the world, were on hand along with several of the series top on-line drivers. The HydroMod drivers supplied the equipment and instruction needed to allow celebrities and spectators to try their hand at computer racing.

The Hydroplane & Raceboat Museum would like to thank celebrity drivers Jeff Bernard, Kip Brown, Greg Hopp, J Michael Kelly, Ken Muscatel, JW Myers, Brian Perkins, Kayleigh Perkins, Dave Villwock and David Williams, whose participation made the first ever HydroMod Pro-Am a star-studded event.

And HydroMod developer Scott Przybylski of San Diego who provided technical leadership for the event along with UHL drivers Craig Montgomery and Chris Denslow. Also, UHL racers Brian Montgomery, Chris Porten, Court Johnston, Joey Caines and Mike Halseth who provided equipment and instruction for the celebrity drivers and fans.
