Hall of Fame member, and good friend to the Museum, Bill O'Mara died Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the age of 92 in Edmonds, WA. Bill's love of hydros began the first time he heard the roar of an Allison engine and saw Slo-Mo-Shun IV skimming accross Lake Washington with her high trailing roostertail according to longtime colleague Bill Berry. His enthusiastic style of broadcasting will never be forgotten. He is cited in most news journals as being remembered for reciting the Lords Prayer on KING television following the 1951 Gold Cup crash of Quicksilver which killed driver Orth Mathiot and Thom Whittaker.

No services will be held, and to demonstrate his support for the Museum, he has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to support the Museum.
