The Unlimited Lights Hydroplane Racing Association (ULHRA) held their annual "Spring Training" event on Tuesday, April 14th at Stan Sayres Pits on Lake Washington.

With the first ULHRA racing event less than two weeks away at Firebird Lake in Chandler, Arizona, Six UL's and four Lighter-than-Lights took to the waters for their opportunity to knock out the cobwebs. With a chilly day, and a northerly wind which caused some whitecaps mid-morning, all who wanted, got out onto the course to test their setups.

Last year, Vintage Unlimiteds Miss Bardahl and Miss Thriftway were given the opportunity to participate. The invitation was extended again this year and both camps responded with a resounding "YES!" Dixon Smith had a number of propellers he wanted to try, and the Vashon Unlimiteds group were testing a new carbuerator setup in addition to testing a new prop.
